Poker Winning Hands
Royal Flush - the five highest cards, being 10 through Ace with all five from the same suit. There is no suit order in poker so in the unlikely event of two people having royal flushes, the result would be a tie.
Straigh Flush - Five consecutive cards in numerical order from the same suit.
Four Of A Kind - Four cards of the same denomination, obviously from different suits.
Full House - Three cards of the same denomination, plus a pair of cards of a different denomination. The three of a kind takes precedence over a pair if there is a tie.
Flush - Any five cards from the same suit.
Straight - Five consecutive cards in numerical order from different suits.
Three Of A Kind - three cards of the same denomination, obviously from different suits.
Two Pair - Two cards of the same denomination, plus another two cards of the same denomination.
Pair - Any two cards of the same denomination.
High Card - the highest card held, if none of the above are applicable.
These rankings are for most games vaiations. For some games, such as those with reduced decks, there are differences such as a flush beating a full house.
